Coulsontown is a truly unique settlement or village consisting of small quarrymen's cottages, constructed of a local rock by immigrant Welsh quarry workers before the Civil War. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The exterior and interior designs of these very rare structures are identical to those found in the slate regions (Snowdonia) of North Wales. They are unique in North America.
